JMU! I wish I had a Duke Dog.

Little Chrissy and me
We met Chrissy for breakfast on Monday morning Bob Evans style.  Little Grill is closed On Mondays so naturally I was devastated but at least I got to see my little sunshine and her bf, Tito (hi Terry!).

JMU has changed a lot since I last visited two years ago, which made me feel old.  The fact that Chrissy is in college in the first place makes me feel old, the least JMU could do is stay the same!

Ugly stadium
The new stadium is stupid looking.  I don’t care how good the D1 AA Football team thinks they are, there’s no reason for the monstrosity they’re adding onto Bridgeforth Stadium.

This is yet another reason why I do not donate to the Alumni association.  Silly appropriations of precious funds- shouldn’t they be using that money to erect some sort of Skutnik shrine on campus?  After all, three out-of-state siblings should mean something!  Right, Sue and Jeff??

Tito did make a good point – there isn’t enough seating for students at the games – but since when do students go to the JMU football games?  I always used those Saturdays as an excuse to get together with friends and enjoy cheap beer in honor of the game, but we rarely went.

I guess I can’t knock the university’s effort to support school spirit, I just wish it wasn’t such a blemish on JMU’s beautiful campus.

  1. How iconic- the picture of you and Chrissy has a big ol' Texas sign in the background. What a beautiful foreshadowing, did you plan that? ohoh, we could make your blog like a new age Where's Waldo!

  2. Though you rarely went to the games, I still salute a robust tailgater. Some students could not name what day of the week the games are played.
Save the stadium criticism for when it's finished, or when you come back for the packed and loud 2011 homecoming game on Saturday October 1!
If not, the JMU Duke nation will see you in Frisco for the national title game.
    Good luck in Texas,
    Dukes fans on the CAAZone
