Crossing State Lines

VA tornado devastation.. and Evan's arm
Although we anticipated running into some sort of tornado aftermath along our way to Dallas, I was surprised that the only place we saw the devastation was in VA.  It was pretty awful to see homes and trees ripped up on both sides of 81.  We noticed a bunch of trucks traveling north after we passed the affected neighborhoods; Evan thought they might have been on their way to being rebuilding which I hope was the case.  It looked like those Virginians were in need of some real assistance, even if they are Tech fans.

Tennessee welcomed us
As we crossed into Tennessee, officially the most unexpected small/large state since Pennsylvania, the trees got greener and I started to feel the insatiable Chik-Fil-A itch.  Evan agreed to stop for dinner and it felt like Christmas.

The good old grilled chicken sandwich with a side of the FF honey mustard salad dressing reminded me of college in a way that only the truly amazing things in life can (ex: Natty Light).  Due to this fact and my deep love for the four years I spent at JMU, I would gladly eat Chik-Fil-A for every meal for a daily dose of irresponsible nostalgia.

The North Pole
But alas, Evan politely suggested that we do not make that stop a regular occurrence.  He has a point; I would like to make some friends here in Dallas and if we had my way, I would be consuming chicken sandwiches and waffle fries on the regular, living life in my bathrobes because none of my clothes would fit.  I guess he really does have my best interest in mind regardless of how glorious that existence would be.
