A Rocket To Six Flags

On Saturday, Evan and I went to Six Flags to see his friend Cook’s band play in the Starburst Summer Concert Series.  We last saw A Rocket To The Moon in Hartford and it was such a funny experience.

A Rocket To The Moon!
The band’s fan base is pretty young so we ended up unintentionally standing with their parents during the show.  Afterwards we went backstage and someone was “giving tattoos”.  I also felt completely obese because all of his band mates are suuuuper skinny.

Woo hooooo!
So this time I was ready for the teeny boppers and the tattoos, ready for the tight pants and a solid sing along (since I now know some of their songs).  We went backstage again but there were no tattoos this time, just an air conditioned room (heaven!) and we got the chance to watch the opening band from the stage.
This angle makes is look like no one was there.. but people were there!
I’ll pretend like this wasn’t exciting at all but it was amazing to watch a live show from the wings.  It was kind of incredible to be in Texas and see so many of Cook’s fans singing along to their music.  It’s crazy to think that they just came back from a tour in Europe and the UK and they’ll be traveling the US for the rest of the summer.  Is it lame to say that's so rock and roll?
Cook on the drums!
